Who are we?

We are a group of state registered speech and language therapists (SLTs) and assistants who work in schools and colleges around Hampshire during term time and run social skills groups at Speaking Space during the holidays.

Who do we work with?

We specialise in seeing both children and adults with:

  • Speech, language and communication needs
  • An intellectual disability (learning disability)
  • Autism
  • Social and emotional needs

 

We run social skills groups during the school holidays for children and adults who would like to improve their social communication skills.

What can we provide?

Schools:

We work in a range of educational settings including mainstream schools, specialist provision and further education colleges. We provide a bespoke communication service which can include:

  • Assessment, reviews and target setting
  • Ongoing intervention (1:1 or group)
  • Staff training
  • Communication audit of the environment
  • Parent liaison
  • Resources for therapy

 

How do we ensure a quality service?

  • Our therapists are all HCPC registered
  • We provide our therapy team with regular clinical supervision and opportunities for continuing professional development (CPD)
  • We constantly measure effectiveness in therapy through the use of SMART targets
  • We provide regular feedback via an ongoing caseload tracker
  • We are constantly being audited via the Autism Accreditation Programme and have currently been awarded accreditation with Advanced status
  • We gain regular feedback from schools via mid year meetings with the directors, end of year meetings with the therapy manager and end of year questionnaires with schools, parents and learners
