An overview of the course:

This one day course aims to provide an overview of speech, language and communication needs relating to children and young people. There will be a mix of theory and practical exercises to help explore the areas of attention and listening, receptive and expressive language and speech sounds. The course will be run by our highly experienced speech and language therapists who will discuss each area and provide strategies to support children in school and at home.

Who is the course aimed at?

The course is aimed at teaching & support staff working in a range of education settings.

About the trainers

Rhian Bond is a Speech and Language Therapist with over 10 years experience working in a range of educational settings and specialist provisions. She is the lead therapist for SEMH and the therapy manager for Speaking Space.

Nicky Mecklenburgh has been a qualified Speech and Language Therapist since 2005. She has previously worked within Community Care and CAMHS teams. Nicky joined Speaking Space in 2018 a and is the mainstream lead therapist.

Amy Green is a Speech and Language Therapist with 13 years experience working in independent practice. She has worked in a range of educational settings developing speech, language and social communication skills.
