Therapy in schools
We have contracts to provide a number of schools across Hampshire with regular speech and language therapy input. We are able to provide you with a bespoke service to meet your needs, from termly visits to multiple weekly visits; from individual work to working within the classroom.
What types of schools do we work in?
⋅ Mainstream primary and secondary schools
⋅ Schools for children with SEMH difficulties (Social, Emotional and Mental Health)
⋅ Special needs primary and secondary schools
What can we provide?
⋅ Assessment of speech, language and communication needs
⋅ Ongoing therapy or advice
⋅ Advice on communication friendly environments
⋅ Training staff to implement recommendations
⋅ Training staff in communication – see our Training information
⋅ Support to become a centre of excellence in social skills
If you already receive SLT from the public sector we are able to supplement that, and we have experience of working successfully alongside our public sector colleagues.
How do we ensure a quality service?
⋅ We provide all our therapists with regular clinical supervision and opportunities for CPD and training in our specialist areas. Our therapists are all HCPC registered.
⋅ We constantly measure the effectiveness of the work we do through the use of SMART targets
⋅ We ask for feedback from service users, parents and schools on an annual basis to check the quality of what we are doing
⋅ You will receive a termly report and a more detailed end of year report outlining pupil progress throughout they year
What do our schools think?
At the end of each academic year we meet with each school to find out what is working well and what we can do differently. We also ask them to rate us and provide feedback for last year.
