Monday 28 January: Pathological Demand Avoidance
An introduction by speech and language therapist Chris Mcloughlin to PDA, and strategies to support at home and in education.
Monday 25 February: PECS
Speech and language therapists Natalie Hamilton and Joley Anderson will provide an introduction to PECS, an overview of the stages and who PECS is suitable for.
Monday 25 March: Theory Of Mind
Katherine Wareham, speech and language therapist, has developed a Talkabout resource that is currently being trialled in schools in Hampshire. Katherine will discuss the Theory of Mind, the difficulties your child may be experiencing and how you can help.
Monday 29 April: Emotions
Alex Kelly will look at how to encourage children and adults to learn about, manage and express their emotions.
Wednesday 8 May: Friendships
Amy Green will begin exploring the topic of developing friendship skills and provide ideas and strategies that can be used to help students learn how to make and maintain healthy friendships with their peers.
Monday 24 June: Art Therapy
Senior art therapist Kevin O’Farrell will be discussing anxiety experienced by your children and how you can support them. Kevin’s colleague Dr Matt Symes, Consultant Psychologist, will be joining us.
